The 6th Target

James Patterson spins another tale of intrigue and deception with his book The 6th Target, which has been written with fellow writer Maxine Paetro. There's a mad man on a local ferry, who ends up shooting and killing four people. Inspector Lindsay Boxer is called to investigate the scene and discovers that one of the Women's murder club members has been severely injured in the shooting.

At the same time, there's another string of crimes which has taken place. Many prominent children have disappeared along their nannies, while a man Fred Brinkley comes forward and claims that he was responsible for the ferry murders. While this man is quickly put behind bars, is he really mad or merely faking? While investigators move forward to look out for the missing children, a series of unexplained deaths happen at the building where reporter Cindy Thomas has just moved into.

The 6th Target is a brilliant weave of three different crime scenarios and Patterson has done his best to put them together. While the city is being rocked by these upsetting crimes, the heat is on to solve these crimes. It's a brilliant collection to the murder club series. I'll surely recommend this book to all murder mystery fans.
